Equipment Needs:
A well-designed system would be comprised of multiple speakers in-wall, in-ceiling, or surface mounted. There are two transmission types, that of low
impedance, larger conductor wired systems (similar to home audio systems), and high voltage, small shielded conductor wired systems, normally providing 25volt or 70volt
configurations as used in large spaces to be served. Dependent upon use, these speakers would either be horn or trumpet style as used in typical paging systems, or cone style paper or
polypropylene, where music with good fidelity quality is a concern as normally used for music. The quantity of speakers, their power capacity, the distance between the speakers, and the
power source will ultimately determine the conductor sizing and system voltage characteristics. The power to drive these speakers would come from a paging amplifier with audio and microphone
inputs to provide voice or music transmission in large areas. When the system is desired to carry music for background and entertainment, a commercial amplifier or receiver with built-in AM-FM
tuner, may be more preferable in order to provide the fidelity range desired. The source of the music may be input in the form of a CD player, AM-FM tuner, digital satellite receiver or similar
component, or a microphone for voice. Provisions may be made to zone areas or to control volume levels in one location different from another location. The same source may be used and interfaced
through the same amplifier to provide music-on-hold to customers waiting on the telephone. ASTROvision custom designs packages that will work for you. |
